3 Unique Settings For Your Rehearsal Dinner

Posted on: 16 December 2015

Are you getting married soon? Are you busy putting the final touches on all the planning? While your focus may be on the ceremony and reception, the rehearsal dinner is also an important event. The rehearsal dinner is a great opportunity for your family, wedding party, and other close friends to spend time together before the big day. Many rehearsal dinners take place at a banquet center or a private room in a restaurant. However, you may be looking for something more memorable than that. Here are three unique alternatives for your rehearsal dinner:

Sporting event. Instead of being in a banquet room, you could spend the evening at a ballgame. Many baseball, football, and basketball teams offer group packages. You could rent a private box complete with food and drink. Or, if that's outside your budget, look into getting a block of seats together and pre-purchasing food and drink packages. If you tell the team you're celebrating your wedding rehearsal, they may add in something extra, such as putting a special congratulatory message up on the scoreboard.

To add to the celebration, you could meet either before or after the game at a nearby restaurant or bar. Call the bar ahead of time and see if you can set up a tab or buy drink tickets for your guests

Bowling night. Do you and your family and friends have a competitive streak? If so, maybe your should arrange your rehearsal dinner somewhere where you can also go head-to-head against each other. A bowling alley is a great location for a rehearsal dinner that mixes fun with food and drinks. Many nicer bowling alleys also have restaurants attached. You could have a casual dinner together and then break into teams for a night of bowling.

Bowling not your thing? Then consider an arcade or gaming center where your guests can play video games, have drinks, and generally have a good time.

Charter a boat. Do you live near a scenic river, lake, or even an ocean? Why not enjoy your natural surroundings and have your rehearsal dinner out on the water? You can likely find a marina or charter service in your area that rents yachts for private events. You may be able to serve dinner on the boat and even have a bartender available. The boat captain can take you and your guests past some of your area's most beautiful sites and help you and your guests enjoy a lovely evening on the water.

For more information, contact a yacht charter company in your area. They can help you find the right boat for your event. You can also rent a yacht for a corporate event or something similar.
